The best dinner I have had in Brussels so far. We decided to try this restaurant one evening during our visit. I had the salmon tartare and my partner ordered the eggplant soup for starters, both were absolutely tasty. For the main course we ordered the veal and pork shoulder respectively, and both were delicious. We shared a bottle of wine along with dinner which made for a perfect night out. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again next time we’re in Brussels.
Al fresco dining, Brussels style. On the street hearing French and Flemish around you, it’s like stepping back in time dining at Le Selecto. Welcomed for a late dining at 10pm as a solo traveller, I was greeted and seated, and in a relaxed manner with no rush I found myself at 11pm having enjoyed a fantastic meal. I enjoyed a local white beer, Lupulus, followed by. Scottish salmon (red label) marinated with citrus zest, fennel, grilled Greek bread Saltimbocca of suckling pig fillet, Carrara lard and sage, cannelloni with spinach shoots and ricotta, wild mushroom cream Shortcrust tartlet, pistachio cream, vanilla diplomat, Tulameen raspberries
Found this restaurant in the Michelin Guide. (+) Delicious food. They have the duo menu for €44 and Trio menu for €54. (-) No climatisation in the summer so everyone eats outside on the sidewalk because inside feels like an oven. They served the entrée quite fast but it took them a while to serve the main dish (and they also made an error with one of our orders which cost €10 more).
Wow. What an amazing place this is! We booked a Tuesday evening following this being a Michelin recommended restaurant and it was fabulous. It’s quite subtle and unassuming in style and decor but the staff, service, experience and food make this an absolute gem. When greeted we were told we had a table in the kitchen which was an absolute experience we thoroughly enjoyed. The service was impeccable particularly as our French is limited and the food was an absolute delight, as good as anything we’ve had in excellent restaurants in Manchester. Merci! Russ & Heather
We found the food to be very inventive. We ordered the lobster salad and Irish beef, which were both delicious. My partner ordered the apricot-cheese-almond pie dessert, which had cheese, (which he doesn’t normally enjoy) - but the flavours came together very well.
My wife and I had dinner at Le Selecto to celebrate her birthday. I discovered the restaurant through the Michelin Guide, and it lived up to its reputation. Le Selecto’s unique concept — blending the casual charm of a bistro and brasserie with the refined quality of fine dining — is simply brilliant. We often find long, multi-course dinners tiresome, yet 1-2 course meals sometimes lack the finesse and depth we enjoy. This place strikes the perfect balance. We opted for the three-course set menu. The duck breast, sea bass, and gnocchi were all exceptional. The bourbon vanilla mousse was a standout — truly unforgettable (though I can’t recall the exact menu names). Service was prompt, attentive, and extremely polite. The decor and ambiance were both warm and elegant, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and experience offered. We wholeheartedly recommend Le Selecto — 100%.
